Anyone who somehow got hold of Casey would wonder how on earth she seemed so heavy. After all, she was tiny and underfed. And, in truth, her actual weight was a little under a hundred pounds. But she carried around close to 40 pounds of stuff in her many-pocketed sweatshirts. Tools. Message tubes. Explosives of varying power and intended use, from grenades to C4. And, last but most certainly not least, a disassembled military grade sniper rifle, complete with scope and bipod for stability. It had been damn expensive to get ahold of, but ever since Casey had taken very good care of it. Even if she didn’t get to use it much.
Now was one of those rare times when she actually got to use it. Casey crouched atop the roof of one of the apartment buildings at West Acre, hands working quickly, slotting the pieces together as she extracted them from her pockets. She snapped the scope into place, loaded a four-shot round into the gun, and propped the tripod on the edge off the rooftop. Her hair was tucked up within her hat, so it didn’t get in her eyes as she put her eye to the stop, sighting through it to the New Order warehouse across the street.
She didn’t know where exactly Eria was, but she knew the other would be making her way towards the warehouse. They were, just the two of them, about to execute a raid on the warehouse. Their objective was to take as much of the weaponry that was stored inside as they could carry, then make sure Dresdin wouldn’t be able to use any of the rest by blowing the place sky high.
But first, they had to get inside. Casey scanned for a moment, locating a guard who she could safely take out without any of the others noticing. Anything to lessen the odds against them. She located a lone man patrolling and took careful aim.
Boom. Headshot. The man went down instantly. A shell clattered to the ground beside her, and she scanned for another target. One down, plenty to go.
